AER ISO and IPC Certifications

For over 60 years, AER Technologies has been an industry leader in re-manufacturing and rework services for printed circuit boards, automotive entertainment and instrument display systems. AER possesses the necessary ISO and IPC certifications, following crucial standards and processes to ensure our customers with the highest quality products and services. We would like to present our certifications to interested parties:

ISO 9001: 2015

AER has been ISO 9001 certified since 1997 and as of March 28, 2016 AER Technologies renewed its certifications to the ISO 9001: 2015 revision. The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is a recognized private organization standardizing businesses internationally and implementing principles based on quality assurance practices. The new standard, ISO 9001: 2015, is essentially a quality management system setting standards with a strong customer focus and pertains to all areas of internal business including leadership, decision making, employee engagement, etc. ISO 9001: 2015 captures the concept of risk-based, forward thinking which proposes that companies consider all aspects of their business to aid in preventing risks. In addition, ISO 9001: 2015 demands that a company understand the needs and expectations of its customers and suppliers to specifically tailor a product to their exact needs. ISO is focused on continuous improvement in businesses as ISO 9001: 2015 is geared towards customer satisfaction, increased employee motivation, reducing risk, preventing errors, reducing waste and conducting efficient and effective corporate processes. AER continues to follow the updated ISO practices and is proud to announce their re-certification.

ISO 14001: 2004

AER is also ISO 14001: 2004 certified. ISO 14001 is an Environmental Management System (EMS) adopted with the intentions of eliminating potential environmental hazards and pollution. AER’s focus is on reducing electrical usage and practicing proper disposal of waste such as chemicals or unusable parts within the facility. While this standard is not a requirement, AER recognizes the importance of complying with the ISO 14001 standard and therefore has implemented an internal training program for employees. AER’s training program consists of teaching appropriate EMS disposal and waste prevention procedures and employees are also provided with an EMS manual to refer to.

In addition to ISO certifications, AER is also IPC J-STD-001 certified. IPC, or the Institute for Printed Circuits, is a trade association connecting the electronic industry and was created to govern and set standards specifically for the production and rework of electronics and assemblies. Those standards include the proper methods, materials, and criteria required for proper soldering practices. AER is an in IPC J-STD- 001 certified trainer which permits the training and certification of technicians to IPC Standards on site. The increased development in employee skills results in higher performance and a higher quality product so AER takes pride in expanding employees’ knowledge and areas of expertise.

IPC/WHMA- A- 620

A collaboration between the Wiring Harness Manufacturer’s Association and IPC has resulted in a new IPC Standard regulating the acceptable practices in wire harness manufacturing. AER recently became a certified trainer to the new IPC/WHMA- A- 620 Standard. Similar to the IPC J-Standard certification, a training certification in IPC/WHMA-A-620 provides AER with a cost effective solution to training the technical staff.

ISO and IPC certifications are what set AER Technologies above the rest when it comes to legitimized in-house practices. For more information regarding AER’s certifications, give us a call at (800)-321-6970.
